MPA Becky Beard Memorial Scholarship

The MPA is no longer accepting scholarship applications for 2023.

The Mississippi Poultry Foundation awards a $1,000 Becky Beard Memorial Scholarship to a student who is pursuing a career in the poultry industry. Scholarships are awarded to deserving applicants based on this application.

The late Becky Beard was the administrative assistant for the Mississippi Poultry Association for three decades.

Association scholarships are awarded annually. Applications are due on or before March 03, 2023. Please mail applications to 110 Airport Rd., Suite C, Pearl, MS 39208. The scholarship will be awarded in the spring of 2023.

To be considered for the Becky Beard Memorial Scholarship, a student must:

1. Be a Mississippi resident

2. Be a junior majoring in Poultry Science,

3. Not have received another scholarship through the Mississippi Poultry Foundation

4. Have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5

5. Have a strong history of working in the poultry industry either on a farm or with a company in the poultry industry

6. Type all information for this application and essay.

7. Complete the application in full.
